Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday called for a thorough investigation into the tragic deaths of 15 aspirants who were undergoing physical tests as part of a recruitment drive for excise personnel.

Soren revealed that he has reached out to Union Health Minister JP Nadda to seek assistance in this matter. The Chief Minister expressed disbelief that Jharkhand's youth could be so frail, emphasizing the need for a detailed probe.

This plea comes amid accusations from the BJP, which blames the state administration for the fatalities, calling it a failure of governance. Additionally, during a function in which appointment letters were handed to 523 new recruits, Soren dismissed allegations of malpractices in the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE), conducted across 823 centers, stating that such claims were attempts to tarnish his government's image.
