The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday initiated extensive searches across various locations in Rajouri and Reasi districts. This follows the investigation into the deadly June 9 terror attack on a bus transporting pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple, officials disclosed.

The fatal attack claimed the lives of nine individuals, including seven pilgrims who were not residents of Jammu and Kashmir, and injured 41 others. The bus, en route to Katra, was met with a barrage of gunfire, veering off the road and plummeting into a deep gorge near Teryath village in the Pouni area of Reasi.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) transferred the case to the NIA on June 17. One individual, Hakam Khan from Rajouri, has been detained for allegedly providing logistical support to the terrorists, including food, shelter, and area reconnaissance prior to the attack.

Officials reported that NIA teams are actively conducting searches related to the Shiv Khori terror attack case in Rajouri and Reasi since morning. Further updates are anticipated as the investigation progresses.

NIA previously carried out searches at five locations tied to hybrid terrorists and their overground network in Rajouri on June 30.
