Russian attacks on Ukraine's east on Thursday killed at least three people and injured five more, according to regional authorities. Donetsk region governor Vadym Filashkin confirmed the information via Telegram, noting one fatality and three injuries near Chasiv Yar, an area under Russian assault for months.
During the night, Filashkin reported two more deaths and two injuries in the nearby town of Toretsk due to Russian shelling. Over two years since the full-scale invasion began, the eastern front remains the most active combat zone.
Russian troops are gradually advancing towards the strategic hub of Pokrovsk and recently moved closer to Vuhledar in the south. Despite Moscow's denials, civilian casualties have been significant since the invasion began.
