India has been elected to the 15-member steering committee of the GlobE Network, a global anti-corruption platform, following a multi-stage voting process in Beijing, officials announced on Thursday.
The GlobE Network, featuring 121 member countries and 219 member authorities, aims to provide leadership in the fight against corruption. India's new role on the steering committee will leverage its considerable expertise and experience in battling corruption, stated a CBI spokesperson.
This election represents a significant step for India, especially given the strong support it extended to the G20 initiative that led to the GlobE Network's launch in June 2021. The platform serves as a key hub for international cooperation against cross-border financial crimes.
