Eight militants were killed overnight in an exchange of fire with security forces in Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to the army.
The troops seized weapons and ammunition from the militants' hideout, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operation was based on reports of terrorist presence on the night of September 25 and 26 in the Razmak area of North Waziristan district.
During the operation, an intense fire exchange took place, resulting in the deaths of eight militants, the ISPR stated. The area is now being sanitized to eliminate any remaining threats as security forces aim to eradicate terrorism in the country.
