Youth and student wings of Left parties in West Bengal organized rallies on Thursday, demanding justice over the alleged rape and murder of a doctor at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The rallies, which began from Sealdah and Howrah stations, converged at Esplanade, a central point in Kolkata.
Members from CPI(M)'s youth wing, DYFI, and the student wing, SFI, alongside various units of Leftist parties, participated in the protests. The doctor's body was discovered in the seminar hall of the government-run hospital on August 9.
