The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict regarding a US firm's challenge against a NCLAT order that halted insolvency proceedings against Byju’s.
The court's comments came during a session where Chief Justice DY Chandrachud questioned why Byju’s prioritized settling a Rs 158.9 crore debt owed to BCCI, despite having an overall debt of Rs 15,000 crore.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh took to social media, raising concerns over the NCLAT’s rationale in approving Byju’s settlement with BCCI and hinted at potential underlying motives.
This development added pressure on Byju's amid ongoing litigation, deferring the final decision pending the Supreme Court's forthcoming judgment in the matter.
