Conflict Intensifies in Gaza with New Escalations
Israeli air strikes

Israeli forces intensified their battle against Hamas-led militants in Gaza on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of at least 17 Palestinians, according to health officials. The fatalities occurred due to airstrikes in central and southern Gaza Strip areas, including Deir Al-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters responded with mortar attacks on Israeli forces in central Gaza and Khan Younis. Residents reported that the Israeli military, continuing its operations, demolished several homes in Rafah and Zeitoun.

With over 41,400 Palestinians killed since the conflict began last October, peace remains elusive. Despite diplomatic efforts for a Gaza ceasefire, recent escalations include Israel's major airstrikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon. Allies, including the U.S. and France, are calling for a 21-day ceasefire at the Israel-Lebanon border. Palestinians hope for broader peace but fear further losses.
