Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Thursday dismissed proposals for a ceasefire in Lebanon, despite calls from the United States and France for a 21-day halt in the conflict to pursue diplomatic solutions.
"There will be no ceasefire in the north. We will continue to fight against the Hezbollah terrorist organization with all our strength until victory and the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes," Katz declared on the social media platform X.
The minister emphasized that Israel's primary goal is to ensure regional security against Hezbollah threats.
