An additional SHO in Lucknow has been suspended following allegations of delaying the filing of a rape complaint involving a 14-year-old girl. The suspension was announced by Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), Crime, Akash Kulhari after initial investigations found the charges against Additional SHO Anwar Ahmad to be true.

The mother of the minor girl claimed she was made to wait for nearly five hours at the police station before her complaint was registered. Police have since arrested an individual named Danish and detained a minor who have been sent to a children's remand home.

The victim, a class five student, was allegedly abducted by Danish and the minor while returning home from school, taken to a hotel, and gang-raped. The police have initiated a detailed probe, examining CCTV footage and contemplating action against the hotel owner where the crime allegedly occurred.
