The Delhi High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of Christian Michel James, an alleged middleman in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland VVIP helicopter scam, under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The case concerns the acquisition of 12 luxury helicopters from AgustaWestland. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma dismissed James' bail application, citing no significant changes in the situation since earlier rejections.
James, a British national extradited from Dubai in December 2018, remains in custody pending further proceedings and is one of three middlemen being investigated. The court has deferred the hearing of a related money laundering case against him until November.
