Controversy Erupts Over AIMIM Leader's Remarks at Disputed Sanjauli Mosque

Controversy has ignited following remarks made by an AIMIM leader from the disputed Sanjauli mosque in Himachal Pradesh. The leader, Shoaib Jamai, proposed filing a public interest litigation (PIL) to question why other buildings with more than four storeys are not deemed illegal.

Vikramaditya Singh, the state's Public Works Minister, strongly condemned Jamai's video, stating it disrupts the peaceful atmosphere of the region. He stressed that only the court would decide the mosque's legality and urged action against attempts to sensationalize the issue.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Latif, President of the Sanjauli mosque committee, also condemned Jamai's statements and expressed willingness to resolve the matter amicably without external interference. Latif reassured that the unauthorised portion of the mosque would be demolished as per court orders, underscoring a peaceful coexistence with other local communities.
