A complaint has been lodged by a woman in Cuttack, Odisha, accusing local policemen of using abusive language when she requested them to move their vehicle from in front of her house. The vehicle had been parked there as the police personnel were reportedly drinking.
This incident surfaced on Tuesday amidst the controversy involving the alleged assault of an Army officer and his fiancée in police custody in Bhubaneswar. According to the complainant, a PCR van stopped near her residence around midnight on Sunday, with one officer asking for directions to someone's home.
After she provided the directions, some officers left while others stayed and started drinking. When she urged them to move their vehicle, an argument ensued, leading to the purported use of expletives towards her. A case has been registered at the Cuttack Sadar police station and an investigation is currently underway, confirmed inspector-in-charge Jagannath Mallick.
