Bihar's Director General of Police, Alok Raj, has mandated a 'zero tolerance' policy towards cases of communal violence among officers of the force. The directive was given during a high-level meeting of senior police officers on Tuesday.
Raj emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order during the upcoming festival season and issued a series of measures to enhance public safety. These measures focus on improving police response time, visibility, and comprehensive crime prevention.
The DGP urged SPs and senior officers to lead by example and focus on prevention, prediction, detection, prosecution, and changing public perceptions to maintain peace and communal harmony in Bihar. He noted that crime rates have decreased in the state, stressing the need to build public confidence.
