Oran Alexander Routh, the son of the man implicated in the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Florida, has been taken into federal custody on charges of possessing child sexual abuse images. His Greensboro, North Carolina home was searched in connection with a separate investigation, unveiling hundreds of files depicting child sexual abuse, according to an FBI agent's testimony.

Investigators found videos and chats related to child sexual abuse material on multiple electronic devices. Routh faces two charges and is set to appear in a North Carolina federal court. Currently, no attorney has been listed, and his family's representatives have not responded to inquiries.

Ryan Wesley Routh, Oran's father, is charged with federal gun offenses linked to the assassination attempt at Trump's golf course. Prosecutors are preparing more severe charges. Ryan Routh was apprehended after a Secret Service agent spotted him aiming a rifle at Trump. His capture unveiled a note detailing his plans to assassinate the former president.
