BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of obstructing land allocation for BSF fencing due to 'appeasement politics'. Speaking at the BJP's 'Parivartan Yatra' in Jharkhand, Adhikari claimed that Bangladeshi infiltrators pose a significant threat to Jharkhand and West Bengal.
Adhikari highlighted that Banerjee's government did not provide land for the border security measures in 72 crucial locations in West Bengal, an act he attributed to electoral strategy rather than national security. He alleged that infiltrators have increased West Bengal's population by 35%, endangering regional demographics, particularly Hindu and tribal communities.
Calling for a 'double engine' government—BJP rule at both state and national levels—Adhikari warned of dire consequences if the opposition INDIA bloc regained power. He emphasized the BJP's commitment to development, urging Jharkhand's 90 lakh Bengali-speaking voters to support the party. During the rally, he criticized the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government for unfulfilled promises and appealed for BJP consolidation at local booths.
