The Karnataka High Court has mandated an investigation into the alleged MUDA site allotment scam involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife. The court underscored that such benefits would not have been possible if the petitioner was not in power.
The court dismissed Siddaramaiah's petition challenging the Governor's sanction to probe the MUDA allotment irregularities. The Governor had approved the investigation based on complaints alleging corruption in the allotment of 14 sites to the Chief Minister's wife by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
The order highlights that the investigation is required to uncover potential abuse of power and undue influence, stressing that such rapid and preferential benefits would be unattainable for a common man. The judgement also defended the whistleblower who raised the issue, noting that whistleblowers often face baseless allegations.
