A man impersonating an officer of Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service and a woman were arrested while traveling in a car marked with the UP government logo.

Avinash Mohan Gupta (28) and Jyoti Dubey (32) were caught on Sunday near Guptkashi during a vehicle check on Kedarnath National Highway.

Police seized their car, which had a hooter, red light, national flag, and the UP Government label. During interrogation, they failed to present a valid identity card and attempted to mislead the authorities.

Inside the car, police recovered a black coat and 17 android mobile phones.

A case has been registered against both at Guptkashi Police Station under relevant penal code sections. Gupta is charged with unauthorized use of facilities to impersonate an officer, and Dubey is charged with participation in the criminal act.
