Officials in Birmingham, Alabama, issued an urgent plea on Monday for public assistance in solving a weekend mass shooting that tragically claimed four lives and injured more than a dozen others. Authorities have announced rewards totaling up to USD 100,000.
During a news conference, Police Chief Scott Thurmond stated that the police are meticulously reviewing tips received. He added that five of the injured victims are still in the hospital.
The FBI and Crime Stoppers are each offering USD 50,000 as part of the reward. Authorities emphasized that tipsters can remain anonymous. Despite the intensive search, no arrests have been made following the targeted attack, where multiple shooters opened fire in Birmingham's Five Points South district.
