21 Government Employees Suspended for Election Misconduct in J&K

In a crackdown aimed at ensuring transparency in the ongoing assembly elections, 21 government employees in Jammu and Kashmir have been suspended, and five casual laborers dismissed for participating in election campaigning, an official announced on Monday.
The Chief Electoral Officer's office stated the measures were taken following detailed ground inquiries. 'Acting swiftly on the reports, 21 employees found involved in political campaigning have been placed under suspension, while five ad-hoc employees including casual laborers have been disengaged,' the spokesperson said.
Additionally, 20 employees were transferred out of their current offices to prevent them from engaging in any activities that might raise questions about their impartiality. Notices have been issued to 15 employees under investigation, while 51 complaints were closed after proving no involvement in political activities.
