Police in Indore have successfully recovered 294 stolen mobile phones valued at Rs 35 lakh following the arrest of a 32-year-old man on Monday. The accused, Sandeep Kashyap, is allegedly part of an international network smuggling phones out of India and selling them in Nepal, according to an official statement.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Rajesh Dandotia revealed that Kashyap was apprehended following a tip-off. Kashyap was reportedly working under the direction of one Jitendra Vaswani, alias Johnny, who had promised him a substantial commission for his role in the scheme.

Initial investigations indicate that Kashyap had previously smuggled 60 phones to Nepal, selling them on Vaswani's instructions. The police suspect that these devices were stolen or looted from various states across India. A comprehensive investigation is now underway to unravel the full extent of this smuggling operation, while Vaswani remains at large.
