Delhi Police Re-Summons Lokesh Sharma in Phone Tapping Case
Lokesh Sharma, former OSD to erstwhile Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, has been summoned again by the Delhi Police Crime Branch for interrogation regarding a phone tapping case linked to Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The Delhi Police Crime Branch has issued a fresh summons to Lokesh Sharma, former Officer on Special Duty to ex-Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, for questioning in relation to a phone tapping case filed by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
Sharma has made public allegations that Gehlot had given him a clip of a purported conversation between Shekhawat and Congress leaders concerning the 2020 political crisis that sought to 'topple' the then Congress government in Rajasthan. This contradicts his earlier stance where he claimed to have sourced the clips from social media.
This will mark Sharma's first interaction with Delhi Police post his public disclosure, with prior notices having been sent to him via email. The last summons occurred in October last year when the Congress was in state power. Sharma has committed to cooperating with the scheduled questioning on September 25.
