Security Forces Eliminate Three Naxalites in Chhattisgarh Encounter

Three Naxalites, including a woman, were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district on Monday, according to a senior police official.

The gunfight erupted at around 4 PM in the Abhujmaad forest, near the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra inter-border, during an anti-naxal operation carried out by a joint team of security forces.

The bodies of the three Naxalites, along with an AK-47 rifle and other weapons, were recovered from the scene by the security personnel. The search operation is still ongoing in the area.

Police further noted that the current incident raises the toll of Naxalites killed by security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region to 157 this year.
