In a recent development, Samajwadi Party MLA from Bhadohi, Zahid Beg, has been remanded in judicial custody for a fortnight by an MP/MLA court. The charges against him include allegations of forcing a minor girl into labour and instigating another to commit suicide.
During the hearing, Beg requested permission to file a complaint regarding police conduct during his surrender on September 19. The judge has directed that this petition be sent through the District Jail in Prayagraj.
Two FIRs were registered against the MLA, his wife, and their son, leading to their remand in separate jails. An additional case was filed for allegedly assaulting police personnel, complicating the legal troubles for the politician.
