Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Monday promised swift action to arrest those responsible for the brutal murder of a 29-year-old woman, Mahalakshmi, whose body was dismembered and found in her Bengaluru apartment.
Mahalakshmi's body, discovered by her mother and sister, had been chopped into over 50 pieces and stored in a refrigerator. Speaking to reporters, Parameshwara stated that preliminary information had been gathered but could not be disclosed at this time. The suspect, who hails from West Bengal, has been identified but is yet to be captured.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda confirmed the identification of the prime suspect and mentioned that several investigation teams were actively pursuing the case. The victim's family has demanded justice and called for severe punishment for the perpetrator. The incident has highlighted pressing concerns regarding women's safety in the city.
