Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has vowed to swiftly apprehend those responsible for the gruesome murder of a 29-year-old woman, Mahalakshmi, whose body was found in over 50 pieces and stored in a refrigerator at her Vyalikaval residence.

Addressing reporters, Parameshwara disclosed that preliminary information has been collected, although details remain confidential to avoid compromising the investigation. He hinted at the involvement of an individual from West Bengal. The victim's mother and sister discovered Mahalakshmi's maggot-infested body on Saturday.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda confirmed the prime suspect's identification and ongoing extensive efforts to track him down. In response to concerns about women's safety, Parameshwara highlighted existing measures, including the Nirbhaya program and CCTV installations, while acknowledging the need for stricter enforcement and vigilance.
