Singh's statement comes amidst protests in Shimla and Shillai, which erupted over allegations of illegal mosque constructions and community tensions.
Addressing media persons before a Congress party general house meeting, the Public Works Minister affirmed that maintaining law and order is the state's duty. He called for transparency in the waqf board's financial transactions, land bank, and land allotments.
Singh referenced past actions by his father, former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, to illustrate the importance of transparency, noting his administration of the Bhima Kali Trust temple to ensure proper auditing.
