The Israeli military has initiated its most extensive series of airstrikes against Iran-backed Hezbollah in nearly a year, targeting southern Lebanon, the eastern Bekaa Valley, and northern regions near Syria. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the military, mentioned that a ground incursion into Lebanon could be possible if needed to ensure the safety of evacuated northern Israeli residents.

Amid a backdrop of heavy cross-border exchanges, an aerial video presented by Hagari showed Hezbollah operatives attempting to launch cruise missiles from a civilian house, moments before an Israeli strike. He urged Lebanese residents to avoid areas where Hezbollah weapons are stored. Additionally, Israeli airstrikes on Monday hit towns along Lebanon's southern border and further north, with rocket fire reaching previously unaffected regions.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, in discussions with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, detailed the operations intended to curb Hezbollah's offensive capabilities. The conflict has intensified since a breach of Hezbollah’s security, and recent airstrikes have led to considerable casualties among senior Hezbollah commanders. The military actions will continue to facilitate the safe return of evacuated civilians.
