Assam Police Secure Border Amid Bangladesh Unrest: Four Apprehended
Four Bangladesh nationals were caught and sent back by Assam police for illegal entry. This adds to the 100 apprehensions since Bangladesh's unrest. BSF and Assam Police have intensified vigilance along the India-Bangladesh border to deter illegal crossings.

In a recent operation, four Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended for illegal entry into India and subsequently sent back through the Karimganj sector of the India-Bangladesh border, as confirmed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday.
“In yet another successful push back operation of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, @assampolice managed to apprehend and send back to Bangladesh the individuals through the Karimganj border,” Sarma posted on X.
To date, around 100 people have been apprehended for illegal entry and pushed back to Bangladesh following the turmoil in the neighboring country, officials reported. The BSF has increased its vigilance along the 1,885-km India-Bangladesh border in the northeast, in response to the unrest in Bangladesh.
Assam Police are also on high alert along the border to prevent illegal crossings, according to Director General of Police G P Singh.
