The Quad leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden, took significant steps to enhance maritime security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific during their annual summit held in Delaware. They underscored the importance of a rules-based international order and expressed strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations.

Amid rising concerns over China's assertiveness in the region, the leaders denounced any destabilizing actions in the East and South China Seas. They announced several new initiatives, including joint coast guard operations and a regional Maritime Initiative for Training in the Indo-Pacific (MAITRI), aimed at improving maritime safety, law enforcement, and disaster response.

Moreover, the Quad reiterated their call for lasting peace in Ukraine and condemned the humanitarian crisis resulting from the conflict. They also condemned the recent terror attacks by Hamas on Israel, emphasizing the urgency of delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza and securing the release of hostages.
