The Jharkhand High Court has ordered the state government to restore disrupted internet services immediately. The order was passed on Sunday by a division bench of Justices Ananda Sen and Anubha Rawat Choudhary.

The court directed that future suspensions of internet services for examinations could only occur with its prior leave. This decision came after Home Secretary Vandana Dadel presented the file and standard operating procedures regarding the internet suspension for the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE).

Allegations were raised that the state government had overreached its authority by extending the shutdown beyond the initial timeframe. The court described this action as deceitful, and a photocopy of the suspension file has been handed over to the home secretary.
