A BSF battalion stationed at the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal has taken notable steps to enhance local amenities.
Following a directive from the Union home ministry, the battalion set up open-air gyms and tin-sheet bathing enclosures for women. Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that these frontier villages should be considered the first, not the last, in the country.
The 32nd battalion established gyms in Gede, Kadipur and Tungi, outfitted with various exercise equipment, while also setting up 'Nari Samman Snanghar' bathing enclosures to ensure privacy for women. The initiatives build trust with locals, whom the BSF views as key stakeholders in border security.
