Israel-Hezbollah Conflict Escalates Amid Intense Fire Exchange
Israel and Hezbollah have intensified attacks, with airstrikes and rocket assaults marking the most severe clashes in nearly a year. The conflict, linked to Israel's ongoing war with Hamas, has resulted in numerous casualties and significant damage. Both sides continue to exchange heavy fire as international pleas for peace grow louder.
Israel and Hezbollah intensified their hostilities on Sunday, with Israeli warplanes launching the heaviest bombardments in almost a year against southern Lebanon and Hezbollah firing rockets into northern Israel. The Israeli military reported hitting around 290 targets on Saturday, including thousands of Hezbollah's rocket launchers.
In response, Israel has closed schools and restricted public gatherings in several northern areas and the Golan Heights. Sirens blared as rockets and missiles were launched from Lebanon and Iraq, most intercepted by Israeli defense systems, according to military sources.
The escalating conflict saw Hezbollah target the Israeli Ramat David Airbase with numerous missiles, while Israel conducted airstrikes targeting Hezbollah commanders in Beirut. The violence has led to a significant death toll and rising international concerns.
