Pakistani Intruder Apprehended Near Line of Control in Poonch
A 35-year-old Pakistani man, Hassam Shahzad, was arrested by Indian troops after crossing the Line of Control in Poonch's Mendhar sector. Shahzad was found hiding near a river and had Pakistani currency, an ID card, and SIM cards. He claims to have crossed inadvertently.

In a significant development, Indian army troops apprehended a 35-year-old Pakistani intruder on Sunday in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district along the Line of Control.
The individual, identified as Hassam Shahzad from Tarinote village in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, was intercepted in Krishna Ghati sector while attempting to breach the border in the early morning hours. Security officials confirmed his capture and detention.
Shahzad was located hiding in a burrow close to a river near the Bravo check area, about 100 metres inside Indian territory. Troops recovered Rs 1800 in Pakistani currency, an identity card, and two mobile SIM cards from him. During preliminary questioning, Shahzad claimed to have crossed the LoC inadvertently.
