The Trinamool Congress has accused BJP-governed Odisha of descending into 'jungle raaj' after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted at a police station in Bhubaneswar.
The incident reportedly occurred on September 15 when an army officer and his fiancée visited Bharatpur Police Station to file a road rage complaint. Allegedly, the officer's fiancée was assaulted in police custody.
A video has emerged showing the assailant invoking Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's name while committing the act, causing widespread protests in Odisha. Both the women's wing of the BJD and Congress activists are demanding the Chief Minister's resignation, intensifying the political crisis.
