Traders in Shillai, Himachal Pradesh's Nahan district, conducted a half-day bandh on Saturday, highlighting concerns over illegal mosque constructions and the influx of outsiders from a particular community, according to police reports.
Leading the demonstration, protestors submitted a memorandum to Shillai SDM, which was addressed to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, pressing for the removal of unauthorized mosques across the state.
Rallying for Hindu unity, thousands marched to the Shillai SDM office, with over a dozen leaders from various Hindu and social welfare groups alleging a demographic conspiracy and calling for strict verification of migrants.
