Senior AAP leader Atishi has officially taken the oath as Delhi's eighth Chief Minister, administered by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Saturday.
Atishi becomes the third woman to hold this position in Delhi after Congress' Sheila Dikshit and BJP's Sushma Swaraj. She leads a new Council of Ministers, including Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at Raj Niwas, was attended by AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, and other key figures. Atishi's tenure is expected to be brief, as assembly elections are scheduled for February. She will need to quickly address pending projects and critical infrastructure issues while implementing the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana' as promised by Kejriwal.
