Hungarian Intelligence Questions CEO Over Deadly Explosions Involving Pagers

Hungarian intelligence services have interviewed Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono, CEO of BAC Consulting, about deadly pager explosions used by Hezbollah. Taiwanese company Gold Apollo stated the pagers were BAC-made but denied involvement. The devices were never in Hungary, and BAC is only a trading intermediary. Attacks left 39 dead, thousands injured.

Hungarian intelligence services have conducted multiple interviews with Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono, the CEO of BAC Consulting, regarding deadly pager explosions used by Hezbollah. BAC Consulting, a Budapest-based company, has been implicated in the incidents that occurred earlier this week, the Hungarian government confirmed on Saturday.

Taiwanese firm Gold Apollo stated on Wednesday that the pagers used in the Lebanon detonations were produced by BAC Consulting. However, Gold Apollo clarified that it had only licensed its brand to BAC and was not involved in manufacturing these devices.

In an interview with NBC News, Barsony-Arcidiacono asserted that she did not make the pagers, describing herself as merely an intermediary. Hungarian intelligence, investigating since Wednesday, has interviewed her multiple times. The Constitution Protection Office (AH) affirmed that the pager devices were never in Hungary.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban's government echoed these claims, noting that BAC Consulting is a trading intermediary with no manufacturing facilities in Hungary. The attacks, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, resulted in 39 deaths and over 3,000 injuries. Israel, widely suspected of executing the attacks, has neither confirmed nor denied involvement.
