Tribal Community's Ongoing Protest in Thane for Fundamental Rights
Several hundred tribals continue their indefinite protest in front of Thane collectorate, addressing unfulfilled promises of employment, water supply, land rights, and basic health services. The protest reflects broader discontent in Palghar, Nashik, and Raigad districts. Authorities are concerned as demands remain unmet, with future protests planned.

Several hundred tribals continued their indefinite stir in front of the Thane collectorate for the second consecutive day on Saturday.
Traffic restrictions have been imposed, and a pandal has been erected to accommodate protesters, who are cooking meals, singing traditional songs, and chanting slogans, according to an official statement.
Similar demonstrations are occurring in the Palghar, Nashik, and Raigad districts, the official added.
Despite numerous government resolutions and promises, critical issues related to employment, water supply, land rights, and fundamental health services remain unresolved, the protesters highlighted.
The Forest Rights Act of 2006 has not been properly implemented, they asserted.
''If our demands are not met soon, we will start protesting at the panchayat samiti offices from September 23,'' Shramjivi Sanghatana President Rambhau Warna warned.
Other protest participants include the outfit's district chief, Ashok Sapte, and vice president, Pramod Pawar.
