Ukrainian Drone Strike Devastates Russian Ammunition Depot
A Ukrainian drone destroyed a large warehouse in Russia's Tver region, which stored missiles and artillery ammunition. The attack triggered a powerful detonation and widespread fire. The missile depot targeted contained items for Iskander and Tochka-U tactical systems. Efforts are ongoing to contain the fire.
A Ukrainian drone attack has obliterated a warehouse in Russia's Tver region, housing critical military munitions, according to a source in Ukraine's SBU state security service.
The strike initiated an 'extremely powerful detonation' at a sizable facility under the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defence in Toropets, said the source. The stock included missiles for Iskander and Tochka-U systems, guided bombs, and artillery ammunition.
Following the strike, a fire expanded over a 6-km (3.7-mile) radius, according to the source. Russian firefighters continue efforts to contain the blaze, said the Tver region's governor, without detailing what was burning. Reports of a massive explosion and partial evacuation of nearby residents emerged earlier, as Ukraine's SBU aims to dismantle the missile threat to its cities.
