The Supreme Court on Wednesday postponed a significant hearing to October 3. The session aims to determine if its 2022 ruling, reinforcing the Enforcement Directorate's powers under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, needs reevaluation.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta represented the ED and requested the adjournment before a bench headed by Justice Surya Kant. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, standing for the petitioners, staunchly opposed this delay.
Accepting the request, the top court agreed to reschedule, leaving the critical issue of PMLA powers pending for another month.
