The Indian government is negotiating with the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur to resolve a protracted conflict, Interior Minister Amit Shah announced on Tuesday.
The clashes, which began last year over economic benefits and quotas in government jobs and education allocated to the tribal Kuki community, have claimed at least 225 lives and displaced approximately 60,000 people.
The government is actively seeking a peaceful resolution to bring stability and support to the affected regions.
