Speaking at the News18 Network's She Shakti event, Justice Chandrachud emphasized the need to look beyond the 'male default.' He noted that comprehensive legal protections do exist but stressed that change must come from within society.
He advocated for a shift from merely making concessions for women to recognizing their entitlement to freedom and equality. He also warned against protective laws that may infringe upon women's liberties. Justice Chandrachud underscored that fostering equal participation of women is crucial for a better society.
