Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Saturday confirmed that the situation in violence-hit Nagamangala town in Mandya district has returned to normalcy, with measures in place to prevent further incidents.
Violence erupted during a Ganesh idol procession, resulting in mobs engaging in stone-pelting and vandalizing shops and vehicles. The authorities responded with a strong police presence and arrested 55 individuals involved in the clashes.
In response to opposition parties' concerns, Parameshwara assured that the police are following legal protocols. Moreover, the BJP's fact-finding team will investigate and report back, potentially aiding the state's efforts to maintain peace.
