Thirteen members of a family have tragically died after consuming milk laced with poison in Pakistan's Sindh province, according to police reports released on Friday.

The incident occurred on August 19 in Haibat Khan Brohi village, near Khairpur. The victims included Gul Baig Brohi, his wife, their five sons and three daughters, and three other relatives. Initially, some close relatives suspected that the family was poisoned due to land disputes.

Recent chemical analysis conducted by the Chemical Laboratory in Sukkur confirmed that the milk consumed on the day of the incident contained poisonous substances. The analysis also found intoxicating substances in the bodies of the deceased.

Khairpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Samiullah Soomro stated that the police are thoroughly investigating the case from all possible angles. "We will proceed with caution but ensure that those responsible are brought to justice," he said.
