Four army personnel were injured in an encounter that erupted following a search operation in the Naidgham area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, officials confirmed. Acting on intelligence inputs, security forces initiated a cordon and search operation in Naidgham, Chhatroo belt.
The search teams of the security forces engaged in an exchange of fire with terrorists hiding in Pingnal Dugadda forest area of Naidgham village, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chhatroo.
The army announced that the joint operation with the police was launched based on credible intelligence. A contact with the terrorists was established at 1530 hours, according to a post by White Knight Corps on X. The operation remains ongoing, with further details awaited.
