Supreme Court judge Justice Ujjal Bhuyan criticized the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for its recent arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, branding the move as unjustified and ill-timed.
A bench, including Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan, granted bail to the AAP leader while questioning the necessity and timing of the arrest, which occurred just as Kejriwal was being released in another case.
Justice Bhuyan highlighted the need for CBI to maintain perceptions of fairness and avoid actions that appear biased, stating the agency must not be viewed as a 'caged parrot.' The excise policy case centers on alleged irregularities in its formulation and implementation.
