Consumer Affairs Invites Applications for Members of National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission

The Search-Cum-Selection Committee, constituted under the Tribunal Reforms Act, will review applications, assessing candidates' qualifications and experience.

Consumer Affairs Invites Applications for Members of National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission

The Department of Consumer Affairs, under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, has announced the invitation for applications to fill two anticipated vacancies for the post of Members in the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC). Established under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the NCDRC is a quasi-judicial body headquartered in New Delhi.

Applications are to be submitted exclusively through the online portal. Details regarding qualifications, eligibility, salary, and other terms of appointment will be governed by the Tribunal Reforms Act, 2021, and the Tribunal (Conditions of Service) Rules, 2021.

The Search-Cum-Selection Committee, constituted under the Tribunal Reforms Act, will review applications, assessing candidates' qualifications and experience. The shortlisted candidates will undergo personal interactions, with final selections based on a comprehensive evaluation by the Committee.

For reference, the Tribunal Reforms Act, 2021, the Tribunal (Conditions of Service) Rules, 2021, and the Consumer Protection (Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions) Rules are available on the Ministry’s website at www.consumeraffairs.nic.in.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through jagograhakjago.gov.in/ncdrc starting from 17 September 2024. The deadline for application submission is 16 October 2024. If applicable, candidates should also submit a copy of their application through the proper channel along with prescribed documents to the Under Secretary (CPU), Department of Consumer Affairs, Room No. 466-A, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi by 16 October 2024.
