In a shocking crime that has rattled the community, Shazeb Khalid, a 25-year-old man of Pakistani descent, has been convicted of murdering 36-year-old Indian restaurant manager Vignesh Pattabhiraman in Reading, UK.
Pattabhiraman was struck by a stolen Range Rover driven by Khalid while cycling home from work on Valentine's Day. Khalid was arrested shortly after and found guilty following a 28-day trial.
During the trial, additional suspects Soiheem Hussain and Mya Reilly also faced charges. Hussain was convicted of assisting an offender, while Reilly was acquitted. The murder left a lasting impact on Pattabhiraman's family and led to significant community support through a charity initiative.
