A prominent Bahujan Samaj Party leader and doctor, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, has been booked for allegedly raping a 32-year-old woman and recording the act at his clinic.
The accusation, lodged by the woman on September 9, claims that she was taken to Ahmed's clinic by a local man named Vasulidin, where she was administered an injection, rendering her unconscious. According to the complaint, Vasulidin then raped her while Ahmed recorded the incident.
Ahmed, who contested the 2022 state assembly elections, has dismissed the allegations as false and suggested a political motive, stating that the clinic's CCTV footage is under review by the authorities as part of the ongoing investigation.
